Sweet Adelines International not only provides an outlet for lifelong friendships, harmony and music education, but also encourages women to take on leadership roles that transcend into their communities, professional and personal lives. It is no surprise Sweet Adelines members are successful both in their choruses, as well as professionally.
The organization offers several certification programs that members may take part in as they pursue program offerings that enrich their lives, as well as Sweet Adelines International. See below for the different certification programs offered.
Director Certification Program (DCP)
The DCP is an educational, home-study program designed to develop skills for Sweet Adelines International directors, potential directors and musical leaders. Much of the information contained within the DCP Resource Modules, one of the resources available, is useful for ALL chorus members. Download the table of contents to see a list of topics covered in the modules. Modules may be purchased through the international sales department.
Contact Competition Services at international headquarters to apply for the program.
International Faculty Program (IFP)
The IFP ensures a high-quality curriculum at international events. Each faculty member participates in a certification program designed to keep her current with the latest information and teaching techniques.
For specific IFP questions, contact the Education Department.
International Judging Program (IJP)
The IJP assures members that contest adjudicators are qualified and produce work consistent with the standards set by the organization. Trial scoring, individual critiques and biennial education provide comprehensive training.
