HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- The Crystal Chimes Chorus is finally able to "officially" announce its newest member, Sonja Parnell.
Parnell lives in Hot Springs and sings tenor, "the highest notes." Parnell had passed her audition and her information was sent to Sweet Adelines International. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic struck and "everything came to a halt," a news release said.
"Sonja joined us in our Zoom sessions and, finally, we were able to meet live. Sonja's official members' packet was presented to her, at a recent rehearsal. Welcome, Sonja ... we are so happy to have you with us," it said.
"If you are a lady who likes to sing, likes to have fun and make friends, and have a singing lesson, every week, come visit a rehearsal. We sing 4-part a cappella harmony, and would love to have you join us."
The chorus meets every Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the choir room of Christ of the Hills Church, 700 Balearic Road.
